About Kasey Korth-Piles

Kasey Korth-Piles is a motivated and resourceful educator with a passion for storytelling and strategic communication, seeking to leverage teaching experience and strong interpersonal skills in a Communications or Public Relations role.

Korth-Piles grew up in rural Wisconsin, lived near Saratoga Springs, New York, for two years before moving to the Houston area as a young teen. She is influenced by her childhood of spending time outdoors, while living in the suburbs as a teenager. She grew up in the age of the home computer and the new internet. She began blogging at a young age, with topics ranging from the typical day-to-day of a young teen, to teaching Theatre Arts, and to running.

Her passion for storytelling grew as she took Theatre Arts in high school with her favorite teacher, Mr. Wood. While she has had many wonderful teachers over the years, Mr. Wood’s words are what stay with her as a theatre teacher. She has directed numerous plays and coached students in several contests. She believes that the performing arts are important to fostering strong young adults and connecting with the community.

Her theatre education at Texas Lutheran University gave her the opportunity to work in many different production roles.  She has experience with set building, stage managing, properties, and acting.

Korth-Piles’ graduate education at Texas State University reinforced her love of research and academia while still working in the theatre department. She discovered dramaturgy and completed her masters thesis on dramaturgy for “The House of Blue Leaves” by Jay Jennings.  She also presented research at two conferences while in graduate school.

She loves to spend her time traveling, running, camping, and with her family. She is an avid reader of all genres and loves recharging at home with her husband, and with a good book and Stardew Valley.
